Sculptural snow

Formations on a reasonably windy day

The cool part about wind and snow is that it creates these incredible floating footsteps! From what I understand, when you walk in the snow, it compacts under your foot and then when the wind blows the loose snow around these areas are shifted to different areas while your compacted footprints remain…

Not much else to update today, other than this next image showing how the ‘flagged route’ has been shifted by the pressure ridges and what once was a reasonably flat sturdy area to walk is now about to crack in half!
